A Match Made in Heaven

Technology seems to keep surpassing everything we thought it was capable of, and it continues to evolve as time passes. Technological advancements have revolutionized medicine across the board, and its contributions to dentistry are immeasurable.

  • Dental technology allows people to keep their teeth for longer than ever before.
  • When teeth can’t be saved, today’s lifelike restorations can last for decades.
  • Today’s imaging technology allows for quick, accurate diagnostics.

3D Imaging with Cone Beam Computed Topography (CBCT)

CBCT emits a cone-shaped x-ray that moves around the patient to produce a large number of high-quality images. CBCT provides detailed 3D images of the bone and can evaluate the jaw, bony structures of the face, and dentition. It is especially helpful for orthodontic procedures, TMJ diagnosis, and accurate placement of dental implants.

CT scanning is painless, noninvasive, and detailed. It has the ability to image bone and soft tissue at the same time, which is extremely advantageous for dentists and dental specialists. No radiation remains in a patient’s body after CT scanning, and although a CT x-ray produces less radiation than a traditional one, the images contain more information for spot-on diagnoses.

Digital X-Rays

The transition from film photography to digital imaging included traditional x-rays. Digital x-rays are far more accurate than film x-rays used to be—they capture more details and allow detection of minor issues so treatment can be more proactive. They are also safe, convenient, and allow for less human error.

Primescan AC© 3D Intraoral Scanner

Intraoral cameras are at the end of a wand that is placed in the mouth for views of the teeth and mouth structures from every conceivable angle–and Blue Wave Dental has the Primescan AC from Dentsply Sirona©. This digital dental powerhouse has 3D capability to give Dr. Nisenboym a strong foundation for the performance of his finest work on your treatment.

  • Our intraoral scanner allows you to see what’s happening in your mouth at the same time we do with great ease, accuracy, and speed.
  • Primescan technology delivers complete 3D structures of everything in its field of view from the very first scan.
  • Primescan’s ability to scan with sharpness and precision allows us to detect and treat issues early for the most successful outcomes.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers deliver energy in the form of light. For dental procedures, a laser can act as a cutting instrument or a heat source to enhance the effect of teeth whitening agents. Lasers can also eliminate the need for a dental drill, lowering patient anxiety and need for anesthesia by leaps and bounds.

Lasers can assist in preservation of healthy tooth material, minimize bleeding and swelling during soft-tissue procedures, and ultimately lead to reduced pain and healing time. Dr. Nisenboym likes the AMD® Picasso system for use in laser-assisted treatments.

Painless Injections

When we say, “You might feel a little stick,” this is what we mean; no injection can be 100% devoid of sensation, but you’ll barely feel the ones you get at Blue Wave Dental. Most of the pain from an injection comes from the anesthetic entering the tissue rather than the actual needle stick, so our injections balance out the pH to make the process gentler chemically.
