Blue Wave Dental and Dr. David Nisenboym invite you to improve your overall health and confidence with us! A healthy mouth builds a strong foundation for a healthier body and mind, starting with diligent oral hygiene care at home and incorporating professional cleanings and checkups twice each year to make sure everything stays copacetic.

Two dental checkups and professional cleanings each are the standard for preventive dental maintenance. We offer cleanings with the sleek AMD Picasso® laser for our patients who don’t like the sensation or sound of the drill, and if your gums need some extra attention, there is the option of scaling and root planing.
Keeping your scheduled hygiene appointments with Dr. Nisenboym and the Blue Wave Dental team strengthens the effects of your everyday oral hygiene practices, but also has the potential to prevent the diagnosis of more serious issues that can arise when teeth and gums are left to fend for themselves.
The mildest form of gum disease is gingivitis, which usually results in bleeding gums and is often the result of inadequate oral hygiene. Gingivitis can be reversed with professional treatment and dutiful oral hygiene care. Left unchecked, gingivitis can become periodontitis–and over time, consequences can become serious. Untreated gum disease is linked to over 50 systemic health conditions.
Regular oral cancer screening is the first line of defense in the fight against oral cancer, and your Blue Wave Dental team has got you covered! Every semiannual checkup with Dr. Nisenboym includes oral cancer screening to encourage prevention and early detection of one of the world’s fastest-growing cancers. HPV and frequent tobacco use are two common risk factors.

If you have metal amalgam fillings lurking in the back of your mouth from way back in the day, Dr. Nisenboym can remove those old restorations and replace them with durable, tooth-colored restorations that blend with your natural teeth like they’ve been there all along.
Millions of teeth are knocked out every year during sports activities by people of all ages. The most effective protection against oral injuries in contact sports is a custom-made mouthguard from Blue Wave Dental. Not only can they keep your teeth in your mouth and intact, they can prevent breakage and soft-tissue injury to the gums, tongue, lips, and cheek lining.
Modern life can be quite stressful at times, so it may not surprise you to hear that approximately 10% of U.S. adults grind or clench their teeth while they sleep, a condition known as bruxism. (This also happens during waking hours when sufferers are more likely to notice and relax their jaws.)

Dental sealants can help you (or your children) reduce the risk of dental decay. Dr. Nisenboym paints the thin, plastic sealant onto the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant bonds into the pits and grooves to form a shield, protecting the enamel of each individual tooth. Sealants are very common in pediatric dentistry, but they can be beneficial to cavity-prone adults as well.
